Elder of the Month:Trumbull family
Our Elder of the month is Jay Trumbull.  Jay and his wife Tammy have been at Covenant for over 18 years.  They have been married for 19 years and have three children: Jay Jr. who is a freshman at Auburn University, Emily who is a sophomore at Covenant Christian School and Sarah Catherine who is in 4th grade at Holy Nativity Christian School. 

Jay and Tammy are Panama City natives and serve in many ways at Covenant Church & School.  Jay has been an Elder at Covenant since 2006 and prior to that served as a Deacon at Covenant for many years.  Jay and Tammy both teach and have taught various Sunday School classes at Covenant and served in the Youth Groups as well.  Jay also serves in the Men's Ministry at Covenant in several capacities.

Jay is the owner of Culligan Bottled Water here in Bay County where he has worked since his graduation from Auburn University in 1985.  Jay is a third generation Culligan Man taking over and carrying on the business that his grandfather started and his father kept on until his passing last year. 

Jay is taking his second trip to Uganda in April 2008.  Jay took his son Jay Jr. on his first trip back in summer 2007 and he is taking his daughter Emily and several other high school students along with Pastor Hayes on this current trip.

 
Deacon of the Month:
Glenn & Jackie Hayes

Our Deacon of the month is Glenn Hayes.  Glenn and his wife Jackie have been at Covenant for over 12 years.  Glenn was ordained as a Deacon in 2001 in the PCA and currently is the Facilities Coordinator for Covenant Church & School and all around handy-man.  He has served the Lord in this capacity for over 11 years.  Glenn was ordained as an Elder in the PCUSA in 1982 while stationed in San Antonio, Texas.  They moved to Panama City in 1991 where Glenn became the Business Manager for Grace PCUSA where he served until they moved their membership to Covenant in 1996. 

Glenn is retired Air Force where he served his country for over 22 years prior to retiring in 1987.  Glenn held several titles in the Air Force but at retirement he was a Chapel Management Superintendent.  Jackie worked several jobs while they were in the Air Force and moved around.  Jackie is currently working at Sallie Mae where she has been for over 16 years.  Glenn and Jackie met while working at a fast food restaurant in November 1967 and were married the following year in August 1968. 

Glenn also wears several hats for Covenant School serving in the past as PE Teacher and currently managing the scoreboard and announcements for the home basketball and volleyball games as well as girls Softball Coach.  He has also been seen driving the bus a time or two for a field trip. 

Glenn and Jackie have two children.  Their son Sean is in the Army and currently is stationed in North Carolina.  He and his wife (JoAnn) have a son, Nick and a step-daughter, Erin.  Erin and her husband are expecting a baby this summer.  Their daughter Tricia and her husband (T.J.) are in the Navy and currently stationed in Guam.  They have a girl and two boys: Kayli, Collin & Cian. 

Glenn and Jackie are both on the Usher/Greeter Ministry Team and the Audio/Video Ministry Team.

 
Other Deacon News:

The church is in need of a full size pickup truck available for a good deal for use around the church property.  If you know of one please make Diaconate Chairman Doug DeVries aware at # 769-9291.  Thanks!

 
Uganda Mission Trip:
 
Please be in prayer for the mission team headed to Uganda during Spring Break, April 4 - 12.  They are Bob Hayes, Jay Trumbull, Emily Trumbull, Zach Bingham, Andrew Underhill and Heather Smith.
