Big News from Covenant
Christian School
Great things have been
happening at Covenant School over the summer. Along with the
transition to the classical education model, we have also been
making facility improvements. The initial goal was to remodel
our entry way, re-carpet the first floor hallway, and paint the
first and second floor hallways. However, through generous
contributions from corporate partners, Covenant School families,
and Covenant Church families, we
are now able to fund the complete re-carpeting and re-painting
of all our main building classrooms! Due to
these wonderful, unexpected classroom renovations, our teachers'
ability to organize and adequately prepare their classrooms for
the students' return to school have been delayed. Therefore, we
feel it important to extend the students' summer break one more
week.
Therefore,
Covenant Christian School will start
Monday, August 24th
Changing of the school start date will
not affect any other holidays in the previously released
school calendar nor will it affect our exam schedules.
Preschool will still begin August 24th, as originally
scheduled. It will, however, require us to change the last
day of school to May 28th, still prior to Memorial Day.
This has been an exciting and busy summer preparing for our
transition to the classical methods. Our facility
improvements have added to that great excitement. We look
forward to a wonderful year! We will see everyone at the
Back to School Fair
which is now scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd.
Please keep our school and staff in
your prayers as we are in the final days of preparation for
this momentus year.

Second Sunday Lunches to Resume in August
We will resume our 2nd Sunday
covered dish lunches on August 9th. Our plan is to gather on
the 2nd Sunday for 8 months out of the year (August - November,
and January - April). We will take time off in December, and
also in the months of May, June & July. To ease the burden of
bringing multiple dishes of food to the church, we will go by
the following schedule, which is changing slightly from last
year. We'll try this in August and see if it works -- and may
have to make more changes in September. Note that the host
group rotates each month. The host group is responsible for one
meat dish AND one dessert. And if you are physically able, we
ask everyone in the host group to help set up & clean up.
