Sunday School

"Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good,
and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD."
  Proverbs 16:20 ESV

The purpose of Covenant Sunday School is to help fulfill the discipleship aspect of the Great Commission,
whereby we seek to disciple the nations by training ourselves in faithful Christian living through the Scriptures,
in order that we might in turn train others.

Christian Education Goals

We have established the following goals for our congregation that flow from our purpose statement. We desire each of our members to understand and be committed to:

bulletJesus Christ as Lord and Savior [Acts 2:36]
bulletThe whole counsel of God [Acts 20:27]
bulletThe task of making disciples of every nation [Matt 28:18-20]
bulletThe right use of the means of grace [Matt 6:5-13, 2 Tim 3:14-17, Heb 10:19-25, 1 Cor. 11:17-34]
bulletThe system of doctrine taught in the Scripture and reflected in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms [2 Tim 2:2]
bulletRight participation in the life of the church of Jesus Christ [Eph 4:12-16]
bulletFulfilling their God-ordained duties [Deut 6:1-25, Eph 5:22-6:9]

Christian Education Purpose

The purpose of Christian Education at Covenant Presbyterian Church is to glorify God by “building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." [Ephesians 4:12-13, ESV].

We desire that every ministry of the Christian Education program be oriented toward the discipleship and nurture of the saints through bonds of love. [Ephesians 4:15-16].
