Women in the Church
What is the purpose of the Women in the Church?
To encourage each woman to know Christ personally and to grow in Him through
prayer and Bible study so that she may glorify and enjoy Him forever.
How do I become a member of the Women in the Church?
Every resident woman member of the church is automatically a member of the
Women in the Church. Women of the community who share in the activities of the
Women in the Church may also become members, but may not hold office.
How are the Women in the Church organized?
The Women in the Church are under the authority of the Session. The elected
officers are the President, Vice-President, Secretary and the Women’s Ministry
Chairmen for Evangelism and Missions, Devotion, Fellowship, Discipleship, and
Service. The membership of the Women in the Church will be grouped into Circles.
Why should I join a Circle?
Circles will become the pivotal point for women’s ministry at Covenant.
They will serve as conduits for the prayer chain, meal ministry, baby showers,
and other ministry. The women in your Circle will notice when you are absent and
they will find out how you are. They will pray, study, and fellowship with you.
They will minister to you and provide you with the opportunity to explore ways
you feel called to minister to others.
How can I learn more about the Women in the Church?
Information and upcoming events concerning the WIC can be found on the WIC
bulletin board, in the Sunday bulletin or in "The Covenant Courier".
