Uganda Mission Trip

Our next mission trip to Uganda begins January 19th for Roth Rowell, Laura Knetzer, and Bob Hayes. Roth will use this trip to lay the groundwork for a construction team at Morning Star Christian School in June. Laura will continue her work with Mercy Uganda. They will be joined by Bill Tyson, Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fort Walton Beach. Bill will teach the first week at Africa Bible University (a school organized by PCA folks with Dr. Palmer Robertson as its head), and then he and Bob Hayes will join with Dr. Krabbendam in remote village evangelism and teaching the remainder of the trip.

On January 21st, Dr. David Dietrich, Lauren Walker, Becky Carreira and Brandy Riggins (from Dr. Dietrich's office) will also make the trip. Lauren will be setting up shop for her eighteen month stay in Uganda working with several Christian schools.  Bob will take the medical folks to several remote villages for a medical and teaching ministry.

Lauren could still use some monthly support as well as some one time gifts to help her get set up in Uganda. She is also in need of a laptop computer, used or new, that she can take with her. This will provide a way for her to communicate on a regular basis, update Mercy Uganda needs and information as she works with women and children in education, and will allow us to stay connected for work and updates we need from her.  If you, or someone you know, has a laptop computer with wireless capabilities and standard programs (Word, etc.) that you are willing to donate to Mercy Uganda for Lauren, please let Laura Knetzer  know.  Thank you for your prayers and support.

News from the Deacons

The southeast corner room of the Fellowship Hall has been torn down returning the Fellowship Hall to full size.  Thanks to Brian Delmar and AutoCAD, we also have  a new set up for tables and chairs to maximize seating, serving and movement during eating events.  You can see the new set up by clicking here or by looking in the far left cabinet above the sink in the Fellowship Hall.  There is a nice laminated 11x17 version hanging inside the cabinet.  If you use the guide please be sure to return it to its proper place when done so it will be there for others to use in the future.  There are also 2 dowels on top of the cabinet with the required measurement markings to aid in quickly setting back up the Fellowship Hall.

This project of removing the corner room is actually the beginning of several connected projects that will lead to a nice climate controlled storage facility, underground electrical utilities and a more efficient use of space in the southwest corner of the playground.  A letter with more information and details on all of this will be coming from the Deacons next week.  Be on the lookout and please see any of the Deacons with questions.
