Sunday, May 9th
Sunday, May 9th is
the 2nd Sunday of
the month and we
will celebrate
communion with the
benevolent offering
going toward the
Pregnancy Resource
Center.
It's also Mother's
Day and because of that,
the
covered dish lunch has
been cancelled so
that you can spend time
with your family on that
day. Since we
don't have the covered
dish lunches during the
summer months, the next
2nd Sunday lunch will be
in September.

During our evening
worship service on
Sunday, May 16th, we
will be honoring our
2010 graduates in
the annual
Baccalaureate
Service. Although
the service is
directed towards
High School
graduates, we want
to acknowledge
everyone who has
achieved other
educational
milestones such as
college or graduate
degrees.
Please help us
identify all
Covenant family
graduates by
contacting
Martha Middleton
to let us know of
anyone you are aware
of that should be
included. There
will be a reception
following the
service and if you
are able to help
contact
Jerrie Kirksey .

From
Emily Delmar,
Kid's Quest
Director:
 We
have wrapped up
a wonderful year
with Kids' Quest
Catechism Club!
The students
have been so
enthusiastic
about learning
the basic truths
of God's
Word. The
elementary
classes focused
on the Ten
Commandments and
what they teach
us, while the
preschool
students have
been learning
about Adam and
Eve and
covenants. The
children worked
extremely hard
this semester to
memorize their
catechism
questions and
answers, as well
as memory verses
corresponding to
each week's
lesson.The
students earned
points
throughout the
semester for
their memory
work, and they
"shopped" with
their points in
the Kids' Quest
rewards store
last week. The
23 students
collectively
earned 1001
points this
semester! We
will take a
break for the
summer and look
forward to
gearing back up
in the Fall!
Thank you to
Dawn Colravy,
Dawn Welch, Art
Stroh, Jennifer
Wit, Tricia
Mitchell, Betsy
Hayes, Angela
Stroh, Ken Gray,
and Barb Gray
for serving in
this ministry!
It has been a
blessing to work
with you.
Tthe Adult Bible
study has also ended
until next fall.
However, the Youth
Group is still
meeting as well as
the Chocolate Circle
and various
committee meetings
as scheduled.

Officer
Nominations
The Session of
Covenant
Presbyterian
Church has
opened
nominations for
the office of
elder and deacon
from May 1st
through May
31st, 2010. You
will receive a
formalized
letter in the
mail explaining
in detail the
Biblical
qualifications
for each of
these offices
and the
procedure to
formally
nominate a man
to one of these
offices.
The Session asks
that you to
begin to pray
for the whole
church to
receive the
wisdom and
guidance of the
Holy Spirit in
this matter.
Please do not
formally
nominate anyone
before receiving
the formalized
instructions. In
the
meantime, read
and pray through
Acts 6:1-7, I
Timothy 3 and
Titus 1 as you
think about this
important
issue. If we
humble ourselves
before Him in
prayer, God will
grant His wisdom
and blessings
over us in the
days of ahead.
To God alone be
the glory for it
is Christ's
Church, not
ours.
