Mercy Uganda Banquet
a Big Success!
|
 |
|
The Mercy Uganda
Banquet, which was held Thursday evening,
October 22nd, was a wonderful success and an
inspiration. Our guest speaker, Veronica
Nakyewe (pictured above) came all the way from
Uganda and shared her awesome testimony with
us. The proceeds from the banquet have allowed
us to provide money for the medical care we have
been pursuing for Lawrence.
The proceeds
are also helping us meet other medical needs,
and get the Water For Kalangaalo Fund
going. In order to dig a well for this precious
remote village we must raise $10,000.00.

This is one
of the most critical projects to date and
will provide better health, hygiene, and
overall living conditions for this village.
Thank you to everyone who came to the banquet,
to our choir members, accompanists, and our dear
ladies who made such wonderful desserts for the
event. We appreciate your love, support, and
prayers for this ministry and for our sisters
and brothers in Uganda.

Mercy Uganda
Child Sponsorship Project
Laura
Knetzer is hard at work on the child sponsorship
effort of the Mercy Uganda ministry. She has
over 500 packets of information available on
children for those interested in sponsorship.

Levels of
sponsorship range from $150.00 per year for
non-boarding students, including daily lunch
provision, to $350.00 per year that includes
boarding, school and food. For more information
on child sponsorship, contact
Laura.
Also, visit the
Mercy Uganda website
and the
blogspot
for highlights of the children and other
ministry opportunities. Currently, they are
collecting women's hygiene products,
children's clothing and seeds to carry to
Uganda on the next trip.

The Covenant WIC Retreat
was held October 23 & 24 at the Courtyard by
Marriott. About 25 ladies gathered for a wonderful
time of fellowship, encouragement, and laughter.
They spent the weekend getting to know more about
their sisters in Christ through various games and a
hilarious fashion show, as well as making crafts and
eating lots of food!
The ladies came away from the retreat with door
prizes, hand-made jewelry & cards and fireside
coffee thanks to the Delmar girls--Glenda, Emily &
Kristie--but especially revitalized and energized in
our service to each other and to our church family.
The next retreat opportunity is the PresWIC retreat
on February 5-7, 2010 hosted by Wildwood PCA at the
Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Sandestin, FL.
Special guest speaker is
Nancie Guthrie. For more information contact
Glenda Delmar or Terri at (850) 894-1400, ext.
215 or
terri@wildwoodpca.org.

learning about the Bible and Adam and Eve. All of
